Mikkel Boedker Slices And Dices His Way To Power Play Goal

Monday night’s game in Brooklyn swirled around the nine circles of hell for the Arizona Coyotes. There was bad puck possession, no real shot generation or quality chances until the game was decided, and a few unfortunate gaffes that let in a couple of goals that shouldn’t have been in the back of the net. Still, even with everything going wrong the Coyotes’ Mikkel Boedker gave the Islanders a little cringeworthy video of their own as he ate up their defense on his way to scoring on Jaroslav Halak.

Boedker takes a pass in his own zone, speeds through the neutral zone and then splits an unaware and flat-footed trio of Frans Nielsen, Johnny Boychuk, and Calvin de Haan before beating Jaroslav Halak five hole.

It’s the kind of goal you score in NHL 16, or maybe for you old folks like me this would be the kind of goal you scored in NHL 94 when you were a kid.

For a madman like Mikkel Boedker? It’s the kind of goal you score on a Monday.
