You hadn’t forgotten about this guy, right? Captain of the Erie Otters? 3rd overall draft pick? Pretty decent at hockey too.

After scoring 8 points over the past two games, Dylan Strome was named the OHL Player of the Week. This includes a game last Thursday against the Peterborough Petes where he notched 2 goals and 3 assists en route to leading the Otters to a 7-2 win.

He now finds himself with 6g-18a-24p in only 12 games which is good for 6th in the OHL in total points. It’s worth noting nearly everyone above him has played 3 or 4 more games than him and his teammate Alex DeBrincat leads the league with 32 points in 15 games. Like I said, Strome is pretty good at hockey guys.

If you’re at all interested in the Coyotes prospects this should excite you tremendously. I’ve little doubt that Strome is the real deal and this experience captaining the Otters, along with another year to work on his fundamentals, will only help the Yotes and Strome long term.
