Hockey Twitter Reacts To Dylan Strome Being Sent Back To OHL

Dylan Strome was sent back to the OHL for another year of seasoning by the Arizona Coyotes earlier today. This just a few days after Don Maloney told the National Post’s Michael Traikos that “It’s a daily evaluation, but there’s a very good chance he’s part of the opening night roster.” Despite that statement, Strome won’t even get the short audition we’ve seen many other high draft picks receive with the big club.

While Coyotes fans digest the latest cuts by Don Maloney and Dave Tippett, hockey fans and analysts have wasted no time on weighing in on the Strome news.

Most people view this course the wisest course for the future of the Coyotes. Still, there was some mild dissent…

Though Corey Pronman agrees with Don Maloney’s decision, he does note how ridiculous it is that a player as talented as Strome is not getting even a 9 game trial before being shipped back to the OHL. And it is ridiculous, but alas.

In the end we still get some exciting youth in Domi and Duclair and our future #1 center Strome gets to be the man in junior for one more season before he has to contest with being the man against grown men.
