Coyotes Make Final Roster Cuts; Dylan Strome Sent Back To Erie

Don Maloney announced the final round of cuts ahead of opening night for the Arizona Coyotes, and to no ones surprise Dylan Strome is heading back to the OHL.

Here’s the list of players and their assignments:

Louis Domingue – Springfield – AHL

Matthias Plachta – Springfield – AHL

Dylan Strome – Erie – OHL

We knew Louis Domingue was the odd goalie out, so that cut was telegraphed. Jordan Martinook was the darling of Dave Tippett for the latter part of training camp, so it felt like him making the opening night roster was a sure thing as well.

While I would’ve liked to see Strome get the 9 game audition, it wasn’t in the cards I suppose. Still, his return to Erie coupled with Matthias Plachta being sent to Springfield means that Anthony Duclair moves off the bubble and into the opening night roster and (theoretically) a chance to pair up with Max Domi a little more.

At bare minimum, we have two good young offensive prospects in tow to provide a little entertainment as we navigate our way through the beginning of the 2015-16 season.

Go get ’em. Just take it easy on my London Knights (and Christian Dvorak), eh?
