Coyotes Trim Roster To 31; Perlini, Dvorak Among Names Sent Down

The Arizona Coyotes and General Manager Don Maloney announced the next string of cuts for the club as the Yotes continue the trim down to 23 for opening night October 9th against the Kings.

Notable among the cuts is 2014 12th overall pick Brendan Perlini, who was looking to make a mark at camp after two straight injury plagued seasons in the OHL. Joining him in the OHL will be center Christian Dvorak, who returns to a London Knights team that looks absolutely loaded.

I don’t think anyone is too surprised at the names being sent down for a little more seasoning, but now we’re 8 cuts away from the final roster and there’s a 3rd overall pick still lingering.

Here’s all of this mornings cuts and where they’ve been assigned:

Christian Dvorak – London – OHL

Brendan Perlini – Niagara – OHL

Craig Cunningham – Springfield – AHL

Tyler Gaudet – Springfield – AHL

Marek Langhamer – Springfield – AHL

Lucas Lessio – Springfield – AHL

Dakota Mermis – Springfield – AHL

Brendan Shinnimin – Springfield – AHL

Niklas Treutle – Springfield – AHL

There were also two players released from their PTOs:

Keith Aulie

Patrick Dwyer

That leaves 31 players left wearing a Coyotes jersey with the roster needing further pruning. How many of the young bloods do you think will make the cut?
